Making connections

Starting from Portsmouth there was some good banter to be had with  Swedish and Welsh Cyclists. The Welsh man actually lived in Farncombe!
Restless night despite the cabin and usual tactic of pushing to the front of the cars to get early to passport control.
Also lots of useful advice from various Cyclists about bikes on French trains that has been correct so far.

Bumped into Iain Gunn and his cycling buddies on the excellent bike path from the ferry to Caen train station. Only took 50 mins easy cycling entirely on dedicated paths.
And went past Pegasus Bridge that Tim I did in 2018.
After a change to the TER at Lisieux it was then quick to Paris Saint Lazaire.   An interesting ride through Central Paris with final Olympic preparations in full swing and all the cafes buzzing with business lunches. So different from London!

Safely navigated to Montparnasse and grabbed a delicious sandwich before boarding and securing the dedicated cycle spot. Going to be interesting getting the bike out at Bayonne!
My cycling buddy at Bordeaux was replaced by one from Marseille and we talked all the way to Bayonne.
Let the cycling proper commence tomorrow.
