A day starting with the transporter bridge across the Charente 

Talked to some chaps catching 'white' shrimps for their dogs   crevette croquante. Then raced off in the wrong direction but did see the fishing platforms

Erentually realised my mistake and headed off south via a converted railway line and then tow path 

Had to shelter from the rain under old bridges and then came off the bike and nearly in the canal.

really scary crossing of the La Seudre by big bridge but great views of the mussels being ferried around 

Then a long drag through the sandy forests with the sound of waves crashing in the background 

 Finally got the hotel in time wash the bike and fix the puncture   Lovely fish for supper.
